What is the heart attack more precisely?

This is explained as myocardial infarction, and simply put, it means a part of the heart dies off from unexpected muscle death due to bad blood flow in some arteries that bring ‘food’ to the heart.

What causes this?

The muscle of the heart gets blood via the main two arteries – right and left. When changes happen in the arteries, it is because atherosclerosis happens, and this means arteries are thickened, narrowed and blood flow is blocked within the artery walls which should all bring blood to the heart. This results in less blood flow, and death of the heart muscle parts. Some risks that lead to this are genes, sex, age, high blood pressure, diabetes, smoking, drugs, blood fat high levels, no workouts, inactivity, and similar.

The body will always let you know when something is wrong. There are always signs and this can save a life if noticed on time. For a heart attack, the signs happen even weeks or days prior.

They are:

1. Weakness feeling in general

If you feel weak all over, means the arteries are a bit narrow and blood flow is obstructed. Muscles lack what they need most.

2. Painful and pressure-like chest feeling

If some signs happen early on, it is a scary sign. This happens in the chest, feels tight, unpleasant, and blood flow does not reach the chest fully, see a doctor if this happens!

3. Short breaths

If the heart lacks enough blood, the lungs are already compromised too and they do not get oxygen very well. Breathing gets tough, you make short breaths! Check the heart if this happens!

4. Tiredness and fatigue

If you worked a lot it is ok to feel tired of course. But if this happens all the time even with proper rest, something is not ok. Arteries constrict, and the heart does not get enough blood when this happens.

5. No appetite and nauseous feeling

The weakness in the gut makes nausea a lot, and vomiting is another sign when this happens too. This is a clear sign of a heart attack incoming and it must not be ignored.

6. Cold sweat and dizziness

If this is repetitive and often, do not ignore it! Poor blood flow makes this and the brain does not get enough blood too, so it can be fatal even!

7. Flu or cold symptoms

If you rule out the regular or seasonal cold, then it is not good because frequent feels like this means a heart attack could happen soon. Even people who survived heart attacks claim they felt sickly before it happened, mostly through cough and fever signs.
