What is sciatica

Sciatica is a difficult condition that occurs when the sciatic nerve is inflamed and causes pain to the back and feet. The pain is very sharp and causes burning and numbness felt around the sciatic nerve and also can be felt in one of your legs. When you stand or sit for a long time the pain is even stronger. These are two very effective stretches for alleviating the pain caused by the inflammation of the sciatic nerve. They will also help you to regain your mobility and improve the overall state. In the beginning, they will be difficult for you, but with regular practice, they will be much easier for you to do and will give you visible results. You only need a yoga mat put on a flat surface.

Stretch 1

Place a yoga mat on the ground. Lie down, bend the painful leg, and cross it over the other one. Slowly pull it to the chest until it is lightly stretched. Hold it for about 30-45 seconds, and then return to the beginning position. Rest a little and repeat this a couple of times.

Stretch 2

Lie down and bend one leg.  Cross the bent leg over the other and start pulling it to your chest as much as you can. Hold in this position for about half a minute and return to the starting position. After you rest a bit repeat this stretch a couple of times.
