Researchers Claim That Starting Work Before 10 AM Is Similar To Torture

According to the researchers from Oxford University, people, who start work before 10 AM, feel tired, stressed, exhausted, and sick. Moreover, if you sleep less than six hours per night for a week, you may experience 711 changes in the function of the genes.  

Also, researchers claim that the younger people are, the later they go to bed. This leads to later mornings because their cardiac system is not in synchronization with the usual 9–5 working hours before the age of 55.  

Damaging the natural cycle of the body negatively affects your mood, performance, long-term memory, mental state, and overall health. Moreover, it can also increase the use of alcohol and drugs.

Dr. Kelly, a neuroscientist from Oxford University, claims that the body functions differently, depending on people’s age periods and sleep cycles. Usually, teenagers do not sleep enough because they tend to go to bed after midnight. For this reason, most of them cannot wake up before 10 am. Due to the early schools’ schedule, they lost about 10 hours of sleep per week.  

According to the National Sleep Foundation, at weekends, teenagers stay longer than usual, which additionally disturbs their sleep cycle. According to the studies, students’ attendance at school, their productivity and efficiency at school improved when their classes started at 10 AM instead of 9 AM.

It is considered that waking up early in the morning makes people more productive and optimistic. Going to bed late at night affects the production of melatonin, a sleep hormone. Moreover, its production is reduced when the brain is exposed to synthetic lightning. As melatonin is an essential antioxidant, its reduced production can lead to diseases and weak immune system.

• Consume coffee only in the morning. Avoid using cacao, soda, and tobacco before going to bed;

• Sleep in a cool room;
• Avoid synthetic lights at night. Get sunlight during the day;
• Avoid using laptops, mobile phones, and TVs at least two hours before going to bed;
• Avoid consuming heavy metals before going to bed.

• Consume plenty of water and stay hydrated;
